(Japan) Osaka in autumn day2 – Yakitori, chococro, menu

Osaka – day 1

yakitori 2Today I would like to introduce the food and snacks we ate on the first day we arrived in Tennoji, Osaka.

Osaka Part 1. #Yakitori

is a Japanese type of skewered chicken. Its preparation involves skewering the meat with kushi, a type of skewer typically made of steel, bamboo, or similar materials. Afterwards, it is grilled over a charcoal fire. During or after cooking, the meat is typically seasoned with tare sauce or salt. – wikipia

Jay’s friend lived in this neighborhood (Tennoji) before, so she recommended us staying in this neighborhood. And the yakitori restaurant she often went to! As soon as we arrived, went to this place towards dinner. Jay, who was experiencing Yakitori for the first time, was so excited, and I also liked the typical atmosphere of Yakitori, so I enjoyed it from our first day.

I say that, but guys, this is something I really feel after going a few times. Those of you who know the food well already know this, but if I were to give some advice for people like us, it would be:

Never go to a sushi restaurant or yakitori restaurant on an empty stomach ^^

My stomach isn’t crazy full either? When you go to the checkout counter with that thought in mind, you will see amazing prices. (In fact, there is a tipping culture in other countries, especially in the United States, where prices are currently so high that the prices may not seem expensive, but there is no tipping culture like in Korea, and restaurant prices are still relatively mid-level, and East Asia This was a comment containing my thoughts that it may seem a bit expensive to people who have traveled East Asia side a lot!) I told this to a Japanese friend, she laughed and said that they also eat a lot of alcohol and meals somewhere else, or go for a enjoy beer and as a snack after dinner. ^^

Jay liked an old chicken? chewy  chicken, and I likeed young, soft meat, so I think we ordered these skewers the most, and we strangely got into the habit of finishing off with grilled triangular gimbap (onigiri) dipped in soy sauce at the end.

In fact, I think it’s better to go for yakitori because of the atmosphere rather than because it has a special restaurant, but it was probably because it was a place filled with J’s friend’s youth, so it was fun for us to feel weird about it. Jay started off with a very excited draft beer – it must have been hard moving travel day, but it made his feel like all the hard work was melting away haha.

I’m not good at drinking, though! Still, at a time like this, what kind of tavern(? maybe pub?) is this in Japan, If you go there, you can find plum wine! + The combination of sparkling water was really delicious.

I hope you try the chicken and leek combination skewers, which are the most basic! You can try the internal organs, etc. depending on your taste ^^ And there are various vegetables, and surprisingly, they are really delicious. In Japan, eggplant is especially delicious, and onions are grilled and each yakitori restaurant has its own unique sauce, and the taste varies more than you can imagine depending on the sauce. Some places use mayonnaise, others use spicy sauce. In general, the most common ones are soy sauce and salt sprinkled only, so try a variety of sauces!

  • The menu has English and Korean, so it was easy to order!

After eating like this, We got up and went to pay, and I think it came to around 60,000 won(about $44). What’s disappointing about this is that We didn’t full enough our stomach!! Kind of we ate it in moderation  ^^ Here is a story when i upload about the I want more Yakitori!!!! on my instagram, then my sister sent DM – My sister and brother’s in law were in Yakotori, and that time there were super hungry, and they kind of finished big event, so they wanted celebrated also. And she said to me they paid around 250,000won ( $186) ^^ Anyway, if you are in first time in Japan! Japan has really really great foooood alot! Even though if you like even Asia’s boos culture please find Yakitori place! we will enjoy!

I will share here –

Osaka Part 2. #chococro

Japan Chococro
Japan Chococro

A chocolate croissant we found on way back home! Even though it was late, the lights were on at the croissant place, so we went in. It was famous for its chocolate croissants, and the prices were really cheap. They said it came from France. The outside of the croissant was very crispy, the chocolate was not much sweet, and the size was not burdensome to eat after a meal. This is a franchise branch, so you can find it anywhere in Japan. If you see this mark, be sure to give it a try while passing by!!

I will post the itinerary again from the second day!

(Black_imjaa’s travel style) If you are pursuing a style similar to ours! Please become friends and read other articles ^^

  1. As of now, there is no binding time, so we are not bound by the date. Can usually purchase tickets on the cheapest day.
  2. We enjoy shopping in the city and hiking and swimming in nature.
  3. We like going to good restaurants, but the standards of the restaurant must be clean and commensurate with the price. I don’t like just fancy(interior for photo) places (cost-effectiveness~!)
  4. We tend to constantly try traditional flavors such as local food and bread snacks.
  5. Depending on whether you have a motorcycle rental or not, the accommodation is usually located in a completely natural setting or a place accessible on foot. (More cost-effective than a resort!)
  6. I like digging into convenience stores – ^^ I especially like digging into traditional bakery snacks ^^
  7. Although the rough information is set, the detailed schedule is changed depending on the situation.
  8. If possible, try not to go to representative or famous tourist attractions.
